I’ll be going to homecoming in two weeks, back in good ol’ Terre Haute. As far as I know, the bars there still let you smoke like a chimney. Home, sweet home.

Saturday was the game against Trinity, which we lost. But we had a good time, as always, watching our team play.

Saturday night was the Second City troupe, appearing again at Rose-Hulman since last December. Different cast this time, but still funny sketches. We’ll see how the Rose Thorn portrays them this year, since I was very entertained.

This will be my last homecoming as a student, and next year I actually will be “coming home” to go to the bonfire. Just one more milestone passed on my journey to graduate at the end of this year!

And some other stuff that is barely intelligible. Lot of fun at the party, even though it was extremely hot.

We got to the stadium around 12:30 for the picnic. Adam and I even brought a nalgene bottle, just in case. Our tickets were hosted by IEEE (institute for electrical and electronics engineers) but there were a lot of people at this picnic for different stuff. We didn’t care, we came for the food/beer. At the door, they were giving the first xx number of fans a commemerative lunch pail. Yes, a lunch box. A metal, hinged, handled, lunchbox. We had no idea that this odd gift would turn out to be a gift indeed.

We all started off getting the standard: hamburgers, cheeseburgers, BBQ sandwhiches, hot dogs. Pretty good food. It was a hot hot hot day, so we all decided that an icy cold glass of beer would help keep us cool.

Once we realized that beer was going to run out and that we couldn’t get any more free beer once the picnic ended, we had to think of a way to get as much as possible. Drinking a lot of it was one option, which we quickly set out to do. But then what would we do once we were in the game? So we filled the Nalgene bottles with beer. That seemed to work, but the day was really really hot, and we weren’t allowed to take beer out of the picnic. So we put them in the lunch pails. They fit almost perfectly if you rotate them. Excellent. But the pails were getting hot. Solution? Ice. Lots of ice. Well, that works for about six beers or so, and there were five of us.

Next solution: If you set the lunchbox upright? You can fit two cups inside of it. If you stack the cups, they wont spill. If you surround them with ice, they will stay cold. Excellent idea. Immediately sprung into action.

The moral of the story, the baseball game was one of the most fun times I’ve had all summer, and its all thanks to our friend, the lunch pail. We even discovered after the game that a sack of 10 Whitecastles fits perfectly into the pail! Of course, the pail is supposed to be used for food, so that makes sense.

Went out with a bunch of friends Friday night, as can be seen in above picture (thanks Bri). As you can see, I am totally awsome and this picture proves it. No I’m not egotistical (yes I am).

More on why I’m totally awesome. On the way out of the bar Friday night, I got stopped by these three girls. They thought I was cute and wanted to talk. Yes, that’s right, I’m totally awesome. I told them I had to go, though, because my ride was leaving. They seemed upset. Man, I’m a nice guy.

More on awesomeness, Saturday night we go out to Bally (again) for dinner and some beers, and the Miller Lite girls are there, giving out free stuff. I got some of this free stuff, because I am awesome. Then Peyton Manning comes to chill in the bar. There’s only about two dozen people there at the time, but after a few hours it got pretty crowded. I’m sure some other Colts were around. They’re really taking over the campus. Rose-Hulman is getting owned by the Colts and their little golf carts (apparantly, its difficult to walk the ten feet to the field. I had to walk 10 minutes to class in the freezing snow, and these guys ride a golf cart to the field?)

We drove back early this morning because Arjun had to leave to go back to Chicago, so we took off at about 8:30 in the morning. When we got back, we went to Whitecastle in Indy. The pool is leaking because a rock broke through the bottom (just as I predicted…), so we hope we can fix it. We shot some fireworks that we got. Fireworks are truly awesome.

I went to the driving range with Kau to hit some balls. That was a lot of fun. Sometime this week, we’re going to try and do a course. That would be fun, I’ve never played golf before.

I took a nap today because I was so tired. Have work tomorrow… going to Chicago on Friday. So very tired…
