Who Wants to be a Super Hero?

I saw this show on Sci-Fi yesterday, and decided that this is what reality TV is supposed to be. There are a lot of dumb reality shows out there, but this one is actually funny, and entertaining. I don’t need to watch drama unfold as two roommate fight over who gets to date a third roommate, because that’s stupid. But superheroes? Everyone loves superheroes.

Plus, the winner gets his/her own comic plus a Sci-Fi original movie. Wicked.

My vote is for Major Victory, because he is hilarious. His catchphrase is “Be a winner, not a weiner!”

Sleepy

I took a nap yesterday after work, at 6pm. I woke up this morning at 7:30. That was an awesome nap.

Smart Purchase

I went to Walmart today and bought an alarm clock. And thus ends a year of using my cellphone as an alarm clock. Oh, I have had and alarm clock this past year, but for some reason it was fairly unreliable. I would set it, and it wouldn’t go off, or it would go off but be so quiet that I couldn’t hear it. So the last day of school, as I was moving out, I grabbed it by the power cord and swung it around in circles before slamming it into the floor at high velocities.

But long story short, I have a new alarm clock.

Living on my own

Getting used to living on my own is taking some time. I’ve had this apartment for almost two weeks, and I”ve started buying things to fill it with. My mom is going to come visit me in three weeks, which I am looking forward to. I applied for a California driver license, which pretty much makes me an official resident. Hopefully everything that I’ve learned in the past 23 years will help me to live on my own and not let things get away from me.

Work has been great so far. I’m learning a lot about not only the job but also myself. Bakesrfield is starting to grow on me. I know my way around, and have found a few places to go and have some fun, meeting some cool people. Things are going generally well. And, I never thought this would happen, but I’m actually waking up at reasonable times. When I try to sleep in, I end up sleeping until 8am! We’ll see how long that lasts.

At Long Last

Finally! I’m in California, I’ve moved into my apartment, and I’ve finished three weeks at my new job. California is great. It was rough getting started in the apartment arena, but finally it came through. I got a great place in a brand new complex, got furniture, a new phone number, and I’m getting slowly settled in.

Work is great, but there isn’t a lot of downtime. And I still don’t have internet at my apartment, so I’ve been stealing wireless from a neighbor. But I’m loving it here! If you want my new mailing address or phone number, let me know.
