This has turned out to be one of the best ideas all year long! Thanks alot to everyone who has participated. Its only 5 more weeks, so lets make the best of it that we can!
Model EU this weekend was a lot of fun. I ended up getting second place for the foreign ministry, which was fantastic. The girl who won did a really great job.
Only five more weeks at this school. May 27th can not come fast enough. I am tired of this school and the people. Sadly, I think for some reason this is how the rest of my life is going to be… I will have some disappointments, and will always be waiting for the next good thing, which will never come.
I realize its been nearly a month since my last post. I just haven’t felt like updating in a while, but I figured that I had some time right now, so why not.
I’m currently in Indianapolis, at the Midwest Model European Union simulation, same as last year. This year, we are representing Sweden, and I am the Foreign Minister. So far, its been a good time, and I enjoy being here and doing something that people in my major don’t normally do while learning about politics, as well as getting free food and a vacation on the HSS department budget. Its our Spring Break, and I wasn’t doing anything else this week, so this seemed like a good use of my time. We’ve been preparing for a few months now, and we’re here and ready to debate. Not like it requires that much preparation; some of the people here have absolutely no idea what they are talking about, and they take this as a class! For credit! I hope they’re happy that an engineer who has no formal training in European Politics or International Relations whatsoever knows more about their subject than they do. And they’re going to get an degree in this?
I went to my Grandma’s house for a family reunion / Palm Sunday dinner. Most of the family was able to make it, which was great. I rarely get to see everyone. Moving to California, I’ll be less likely to go to these events, so I have to get as many in as I can before its too late. There is a new addition to the family; one of my cousins now has a little boy. This is the sixth great-grandchild that my grandmother has. This particular cousin happens to be the first one younger than I am to have a child, meaning that he has leaped past me. I’ve been skipped! While I’m almost 23, I still think that I’m not prepared to have a child of my own. I can’t explain why, but I’ve just never thought about what it would be like if I had a child at this age.
I will be graduating in 6 weeks. I have 5 weeks of class left this quarter. I am on track for graduation, all my classes are wrapping up, and I am doing well. I am excited about moving to California, but I know its going to be a big change. A lot of my friends will probably be getting married either this summer or sometime this year, and it will be hard to get to those weddings. I’m nowhere near close to being married; I’m not even in a relationship. Like I said, I’m almost 23 but I still feel so young.
April is half over, and I haven’t written since halfway through March. Not that my life is super exciting, but I feel like I should have written more. This is mostly a log of my life, and thats 4 weeks gone by without writing it down. I’ll try to write more, but I can’t make any promises. We’ll see what happens over the next few weeks.
