Back in T-town where the gas is cheap(er)

Got up today around noon, and laid around for a while. I finally got up and took a shower, and took off from Ryan's apt at about 2:30 or so. I got to Tulsa around 4:30, and went with my dad to pick up his truck and drop mine off for an oil change.

Most of my stuff is still in boxes, mostly because I don't want to unpack. I don't really feel like it. I'm just going back in three months!

Gonna go to sleep early, go out around Tulsa looking for work and I gotta call that other guy about the job. I'll take my awesome sister to breakfast @ BBD in the morning, cause her birthday is wednesday. Mine's in 30 days!

Sleep-in Sundays

Slept in today. Woke up around 12:30 and took a shower. My hair is getting long, I like it. I haven't had longish hair since like 3rd- grade, so I'm growing it out a little. I also need to start saving up some money (read: get a job) if I want to get that tattoo by my birthday or not.

Watched some TV for a while, drove around town. Went to the mall, then to Best Buy. Ryan and I went to this Panda place for lunch, a chinese buffet. Chinese food is great… Chicken and rice. I dunno why I always rejected Chinese restaurants, but its pretty good. Came back, and I met a friend of Ryan's here, she came over and we played some Super Smash Bros with her and also Ryan's roommate. We played for two hours before we realized it had been two hours.

Watched some dvds tonight, gonna turn in early. Kinda tired, gonna get up and go home tomorrow maybe. I dunno. Not looking forward to Tulsa.

stupid cox

Got up this morning at 8am, and got my stuff packed up. Turned in my room key at 9, in the car by 9:15, and on the road. Got to St. Louis with my half tank of gas, and filled up there. Got all the way to the exit to Ryan's apt off the interstate, when I ran out of gas! I was intentionally trying to see how far I could get with my tank before the car died. Luckily, I coasted the stalled car down a hill and into the Citgo station, where I filled up 17.3 gallons at $1.999 a gallon… holy crap.

Ryan's apt is pretty cool. I think I'll hang out til Monday, see some people and hang out. We went to see “Two Days from Yesterda”– I mean, “Day After Tomorrow”, and it was pretty good. Like Independance Day, without the Aliens, or like Jurrassic Park without the dinosaurs… or something.

Ryan's new Cox cable internet quit working, so he called them up and bitched for an hour before finally giving up and then the dude on the other line “fixed” whatever the problem was.

Music for the drive home

Had to wake up and make some new CDs for the trip today. Introducing Eric’s Mix Vol. 4, featuring an ecclectic mix of new and old hip-hop songs with classic rock. Here’s the play list:

1. Black Eyed Peas - Let’s Get Retarded
2. Petey Pablo - Freek A Leek
3. Jay-Z - Dirt Off Your Shoulder
4. Lil Flip - Game Over
5. Ludacris - Splash Waterfalls
6. Usher - Yeah
7. Cassidy ft. R. Kelly - Hotel
8. Beenie Man - Dude
9. Chingy - One Call Away
10. Lil Jon - Get Low
11. Genuwine - Pony
12. G-Unit - Wanna Get To Know You
13. J-Kwon - Tipsy
14. D12 - My Band
15. Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies - 500 Miles
16. Twista - Overnight Celebrity
17. Ben Folds Five - Brick
18. Sister Hazel - All For You

The order of the songs, as with any mix tape, is important. Also, I picked them cause the lyrics are awesome, and secondly cause it’ll make for a kick-ass drive… Like the first one, Let’s Get Retarded… I start to fall asleep? Pop this in and I’ll wake up. Anyhoo, feel free to comment on my musical choices.

One of the other CDs I burned was DJ Danger Mouse - Grey Album. If you haven’t listened to this, I reccomend getting it somewhere. Its awesome, what he did to the Beatles and Jay-Z is impressive.

One CD I didn’t burn, but downloaded (cause its retardedly funny) is the William Hung Remix. Oh man, who knew you could molest lyrics to “She Bangs” quite like that. Its funny.

Finals week

Wow, what a week. Stressful. I always end up getting sick during finals week, but I'll get over it as soon as I'm home. I had 4 finals this quarter, and one class with no final. Other than the finals, this week was a lot of fun. Every night since Tuesday, we've had a bonfire going. Tuesday night was Abby's loft, Wednesday night was Mikey and JD's couch and some various wood parts, and Thursday night was someone else's loft that I didn't know.

But Tonight… tonight was the best. We took three lofts that were just laying around, not really anyone's. It was about 12 feet tall to start with, and was packed to the center with boards. Plywood was around the outside, and a gallon of gasoline was doused around it. Inside was 2 years worth of different people's homework. We made a trail of gas out on some plywood, and then threw some chemicals in, too, just to add flammability. We didn't think it would light so fast… but it did. The fucker went up almost instantly! Insane. It burned for hours. We got out the cigars, and smoked em up. Then things got interesting. We found three couches in New Res that were getting thrown out. So we threw em in, too. The first one we threw on, and thought afterwards it would be a cool idea if someone sat on it and we got a picture. So the second one, we got a long couch and threw it on. Kou and I and two other guys, can't remember who, i need to look at the picture… Anyhoo the four of us ran to the couch, sat down, got two pictures taken, then got the fuck up. As soon as we got up and turned around, it went up. Couches burn quick.

Last night we went to this other ghetto liquor store in the Haute I hadn't been to before, and got some vodka and some old number seven and a six pack of miller. The dude inside was watching the news, and we asked him what channels he got on that dinky-ass TV…. said he only gets that one and his brother had to call him up about the Pacer/Pistons game. He was a cool guy, I'll have to get my liquor there next year more often. Isaac, Kou and I made screwdrivers and watched some shit on cable for a while, then we were playing darts in Rob's room. We were walking down the hall, and found some Legos and a 3/4 inch dowel rod. We were throwin this big pink bouncy ball around the hall when I took a swing with the rod and knocked it down the hall. Kou got the idea to set up the legos in a caslte on the table then hit it. We got out the camera again (cause if you can't get proof, it never happened, of course) and beat the shit out of the legos. The went flyin! We also creamed this stuffed bear that someone found in their rooms, I cracked a few of the batteries and the whole voice box.

We took some jagerbomb shot glasses, and were playin dice games with em. We put energy drink in the bottom and filled the top with vodka, and were shootin em. We ran out of engery drinks and started fillin it with pepsi. We drank till about 3, then played some more darts and stuff till I decided to back to sleep. I was gonna drive home today, but I woke up at like 2pm so that wasn't happenin.

Went swimmin in the lake again today for a while, and went to Papa Johns for some pizza. Packed my car up, its ready to go. I just need to throw my pillows and stuff in, then put my bike on the rack. That'll take like 45 minutes cause I'm retarded.

Power Outage

So the power went out today. For 12 hours. Yup. Went out some time after 1pm, and didn't come back on until just after 1:30am. So what did we do? Crept out of our rooms, and got to know our friends. We played cranium, cards, went for a swim in the lake.

We went to eat dinner at Real Hacienda with Beth, Kou, Amy, and Andrew. After that, we went to the mall cause Amy wanted some shoes, and Andrew, Kou and I checked out AE and Aeropostale for some cool shit… I got a shirt at Aeropostale for like 6 bucks. Hell ya, I love the clearance rack. We saw Ashley and Phil there, so we stopped and said hey, and we all went back to campus and went to go play cards in the dark-as-hell room. We had to light it up with candles. We decided to go swimming again in the lake, and we got a bunch of people, almost 20, and we were out there for like two hours swimmin around and screwin around on the floating dock. We almost flipped it over!

Someone got hungry, so we decided to go to Steak and Shake for milkshakes. I missed the Poker tourney, cause I thought it was cancelled due to the power outage. Oh well, I had more fun hangin out anyway. I wish I'd have been hanging out more with these guys all year, making friendships and such. It sucks that we're leaving in a week after finals (which we didn't study at all for today)… Oh well. I'll just have to keep in touch over the summer.

Aiight, so I don't feel like any commentary tonight… its like 2:30 and I'm dead-ass tired, need some sleep. I'll write commentary later.

new blog

So this is the new blog. The old one, I decided to quit writing it it. It just didn’t feel right anymore. Now, I got a new place. I’ve always thought the purpose of these blogs is so i can keep a record of my life, what I'm doing, what I’m thinking, what’s being thought about me. And thats what this is. Thats what this is going to be.

My life is going through some changes. I need to re-evaluate who I am and who I thought I was, and how that is going to impact the next 10 years of my life. I’m going to be 21 in a little over a month… incredible. 21 years, where did they go? I know where two of them went. And the two before that… and the 16 years that happened before that, all in different places. What the hell? If you average it out, I live in a place for 3 years before I'm ripped away from it and taken somewhere else. And now that I'm an adult, its voluntary.

I have two more weeks here in Indiana before school lets out, and then I’m back in Tulsa. Why I’m bothering to go back, I don’t know. There insn’t anything in that entire state that wants me. I should have gotten a job here, and stayed for the summer. But hindsight is 20/20. I gotta make the best out of what life has given me.
